Might be wrong but think it's just a blanket block of blogspot blogs -- try saying that ten times in a row really quickly...

So we're blocked but typepad blogs are not, eh wot?

....actually i've had three visitors from china in touch since i posted that. so the great old firewall seems to be crumbling.

Ja - have no idea, but could be that there are different service providers in China - one blocks, others don't... so through one you can get to the witloof and through another you can't.

Here in the Nam, there's two main ones, off the top of my head. One which is semi-private and lets you do whatever you want and another which is under the Ministry of Security and - funnily enough - it's a bit stricter on what can be opened. Blogspots for example are no-go.

is everything in viet nama duopoly? i seem to remember there being two bus companies - sinh cafe & some other cafe - that cattle(d) tourists around the country. sinh cafe seemed more popular. perhaps it was the one favoured by the powers that be?
